East Cowes, Isle of Wight

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House near East Cowes as a seaside home for them and their family.

When I visited Osborne House I managed to get down to the harbour…how beautiful is this!

Cowes is famous for it’s annual boat race.

sunrise in Malvern

In my job, I am lucky enough to travel to some of the most beautiful areas of the UK. Sometimes I am even luckier in that I get to stay in some superb houses…..of which the current house is a Victorian Gothic 3 story edifice….my room is in the attic…which I adore. It also faces east, and so it is that I get to see some of the most amazing sunrises you could wish to see….lucky me 🙂

Beautiful Broadstairs

I had heard about Broadstairs from one of my clients who used to spend her summers in the town. I never imagined I would end up living here. It really is the prettiest little town, particularly the seafront area and I find it enchanting.

Twickenham & Richmond

last week I spent some time with my daughter in Twickenham which is really close to Richmond.  The river Thames flows right by both towns and it is a pleasure to be able to walk or stroll along the river banks.  I have taken and probably will still take hundreds of photos of the area……mostly coz it is so beautiful. Last week was not exception, and these two hold memories of a wonderful week.

a trip to Cottenham, Cambridgeshire

I recently spent 5 days in a quaint English village that goes by the name of Cottenham. (see my blog on http://www.notjustagranny.wordpress.com Whilst there I had time to explore and discovered many interesting houses and nooks and crannies.  Of course as is usual I took loads of photos, but this is my favourite.  I adore Gothic architecture and this is just marvellous.

I also had a chnace to visit the Cottenham Moat, listed by English Heritage as a scheduled ancient monument.  The remains of an old Saxon settlement.  A beautiful area, filled with wild grasses and the sound of birdsong
