life through my lens

my passion is travel; my enjoyment photography

Good morning Broadstairs

I have lived all over England and occasionally Scotland since I arrived in the UK in 2001. I lived in London for a very long time and adored the city, the sights, the sounds, the energy, the events, the ups and downs. In 2014 we moved to Broadstairs. What a lucky choice. It is so beautiful and I never tire of coming ‘home’ to the sight of Viking Bay in the morning.

Sunshine flowers

Daffodils always make me smile. They’re such happy flowers. I remember how amazed I was when I first came to Ireland in 2001/2002. Spring heralded thousands of these gorgeous flowers blooming on every verge, in parks and gardens. Blooming marvellous 😃😃

I’m working in County Wicklow, Ireland atm and every morning when I walk down the drive to open the gate I see these beauties.

Halloween Pumpkin

So yesterday I carved my very first Halloween Pumpkin! It’s taken 61 odd years….but hey, who’s counting right!! LOL My daughter was impressed, her boyfriend was impressed, and frankly I’m just a tiny bit impressed myself. It’s not great work of art….but I carved it! 😉

Happy Birthday Ma’am

I was very very lucky to be able to whizz up to Windsor on the 21st April this year to see The Queen on her 90th birthday.

To my sheer joy and delight she walked right in front of me…..I even managed to squeak out a very excited ‘Happy Birthday, Your Majesty’ as she walked by.

This is certainly one of my favourite photos of 2016! And one of my favourite memories.

fishing at the seaside

a couple of years ago I was working at a house near Sandwich. I often took a walk along the beach before locking up for the night. On one such sojourn I saw this tiny little tent bright orange against the blue of the sea. It looked quite cosy. I wonder if they caught any fish that night?

Hampton Court Bridge

One of my favourite places in London is Hampton Court Palace.  Whenever I visit, I usually arrive by bus which stops a stones-throw from the bridge. One of the first things I do is head over to the bridge and take a photo.  This is one of my favourites, taken on a clear sky day…..

Surrealistic images

a fab new photography site. I am loving the surrealistic images in particular, has inspired me to do more with my images.

Have camera, will travel.......

Surrealistic effects make for interesting results! Always fun to play with different angles and viewpoints, and then adding effects afterwards. Sometimes, just the image itself it almost surrealistic, with no SFX needed!

Hello world!

this is my first blog on this profile. I am passionate about travelling and get great enjoyment out of taking photographs. My goal is to share these snapshots of places I have been as I take only memories and leave only footprints.
